Port crane driver crushed by log

Paritosh Pathak, 56, died when a log fell on him while he was driving a crane at the docks, in the West Port police station area.

Deputy commissioner of police (port) H.P. Singh said Pathak was in the crane, unloading logs of wood from a ship, when a couple of them slipped off the hook and fell on him.

He was taken to the nearest hospital, where doctors declared him dead.
