Tanasugarn takes title

Hyderabad, Feb. 8 (PTI): Second seed Tamarine Tanasugarn of Thailand avenged her loss in the final of the Busan Asian Games when she beat Uzbek Iroda Tulyaganova to win the WTA Indian Open Saturday.

Tamarine, who won 6-4, 6-4 at the Lal Bahadur Shastri Stadium tennis complex, got $22,000 for her 123-minute effort to beat Iroda, who received treatment in the middle of the match for a sprained ankle problem.

Iroda, who got $12,000 for the second slot, has also reached the doubles final.
