Nagpur: Karnataka secured a 128-run first-innings lead and reached 181 for five in their second innings against Vidarbha on Day 3 of the Ranji Trophy plate semi-final Wednesday.
Vidarbha, 129 for six overnight, were all out for 236. Sunil Joshi took five for 45. Karnataka openers J. Arunkumar and Rowland Barrington (36) started well before Azhar Sheikh (2/61) restricted the flow of runs.
Karnataka are leading by 309 runs with two days remaining. The winners will be promoted to the elite division next season.
