Calcutta: City golfer Simi Mehra won the Malaysian Open Ladies Golf championship in Kuala Lumpur on Saturday.

According to information received here, leading by a stroke at 70 and 71, Mehra went into the final round with Thai Russamee Gulyanamitta and Malaysia’s Siew Ai closely following her.

The trio was tied at one under. In the play-off on 10th hole, Ai and Russamee had a bogie while the Indian made a par to capture the title.

Mehra, who tied the knot on Monday with Christopher Guffin and postponed her honeymoon to play in the tournament, scored her maiden professional hole-in-one on Friday.
