Patna, Jan. 24: Armed members of the People’s Guerrilla Army of the banned People’s War Group mounted a grenade attack on a police outpost in Naubatpur, about 30 km from here, killing one policeman and injuring two others.

The extremists escaped with 16 rifles and one carbine after the operation.

The deceased has been identified as Gaurishankar Singh. The two, who were injured in the attack, have been brought to the Patna Medical College and Hospital. They are stated to be out of danger.

Bihar director-general of police R.R. Prasad said the extremists took advantage of the dense fog to hurl the grenades.
