EB suffer injury blow

East Bengal’s Malswamtluanga will miss Wednesday’s IFA Shield final versus Churchill Brothers. He was admitted to a city nursing home Monday with herpes.

He missed the group match against Tollygunge Agragami and then against Vasco SC in the semi-final, because of a groin injury. His latest spate of injury is, thus, another blow to coach Subhas Bhowmick’s already injury-strung side.

The 18th sub-junior national boxing championships will be held at three venues in Howrah and Calcutta from Friday through next Tuesday. The inauguration and preliminary bouts will be held at Howrah Corporation Stadium, the quarter finals and semis at Mandirtola grounds, Howrah. The finals, next Tuesday, will come off at South Calcutta PCA (DS Gurdwara Park).
