Rediff expands portfolio

Rediff.com has launched Rediff Personal Edition service that will offer content across multiple devices to each of its 22 million users. It will offer implicit personalisation by publishing web content relevant to individual users based on their surfing pattern on the web. The recommendation engine based on the theory of collaborative filtering, intelligently figures out the reader and then recommends news stories of interest to him/her.

Centurion Bank

Centurion Bank has posted a net profit of Rs 3.10 crore for the third quarter ended December 31 against a net loss of Rs 26.04 crore in the previous corresponding period.

J&K Bank net

Jammu & Kashmir Bank has posted a 34 per cent net profit rise at Rs 89.18 crore in the quarter ended December 31, 2002 against Rs 66.32 crore during the same period previous year.

Tata AIG

Tata AIG Life Insurance Company has launched Nirvana, a pension plan for individuals. The plan has been designed to give policyholders the flexibility to choose the age at which they would like to retire, and therefore the age from which they would get a pension.

UTI income

Unit Trust of India (UTI) has declared a maiden income distribution of 0.65 per cent (Re 0.065 per unit on a face value of Rs 10) under the regular income scheme. The investors existing on the close of business of January 24 and have opted for income option, are eligible for the income distribution.

Birla 3M

Birla 3M Limited has changed its name and will now be known as 3M India Limited. The Birla group will, however, continue to retain its share in the company and Yashovardhan Birla will remain as chairman of the board.

Hind Motors

Hindustan Motors Limited has announced an extended warranty of 50, 000 km or one year. This scheme will be extended to the customers of both Ambassador and Trekker range of products.

ETC net

ETC Networks Ltd has posted a net profit at Rs 4.14 crore for the third quarter ended December 31, 2002 compared with Rs 13.9 lakh in the previous corresponding period.

BPCL project

Engineers India Limited (EIL) has been retained by Bharat Petroleum Corporation (BPCL) for implementing the hydrocrakcer unit as part of its ‘refinery modernisation project’.

Ramco order

Ramco Systems Ltd, Chennai, has won an order from Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam to develop a system for front office solutions and back office automation.

ITL feat

International Tractors Limited (ITL) has been awarded the Quality Excellence Award by the ministry of rural development.
