Uncertainty over IFA Shield final

The arrival of President A.P. J. Abdul Kalam in the city next Monday has thrown the IFA Shield final into confusion. With the final also scheduled on that day, the IFA authorities said on Tuesday that there would not have enough police protection for the title-round. The President will be staying for next Tuesday, therefore ruling out the possibility of hosting the final on that day as well. Meanwhile, a senior IFA official informed that if the final cannot be played before January 23, it will stand cancelled.
