Mumbai, Jan. 9 (PTI): India managed to secure the deportation of the prime conspirator in the Ghatkopar blast, Imran Rehman Khan, who was brought here tonight from Dubai and arrested under the Prevention of Terrorism Act.

Khan, who is alleged to have masterminded the blasts that killed two persons on December 2, was brought by an Air-India flight from Dubai. On his arrival here, he was questioned about his involvement in the blasts.

Abu Salem: The Cabinet tonight approved the Centre’s decision to give a sovereign assurance to Portugal that Bombay blasts accused Abu Salem would not be given the death penalty or imprisoned beyond 25 years if he is handed over and convicted in India.
