Dumping duty on silk from China

New Delhi, Jan. 4 (PTI): The government has imposed provisional anti-dumping duty of $ 33.19 per kg on mulberry raw silk imported from China.

The finance ministry, in a recent notification, imposed the anti-dumping duty on the basis of recommendation made by the Directorate General of Anti-dumping and Allied Duties (DGAD), under the commerce ministry.

The anti-dumping duty would be payable in Indian currency and be effective up to July 1, an official release said today.

The DGAD had recommended a provisional anti-dumping duty on mulberry raw silk from China after initiating an investigation on the said good following a petition by the domestic industry.
