Murder charge on BSF jawan

Krishnagar, Jan. 2: The BSF and Nadia police locked horns over yesterday’s killing of two brothers near the border in Chapra police station area even as the frontier guards shot dead a Bangladeshi intruder in the same area today.

The police have filed a case against the BSF jawans who shot Azamat and Nizamat Mondol after a third person allegedly snatched an assault rifle from a jawan and fled. Police sources said the case was an outcome of intense public resentment against the BSF.

“A case has been started against the jawans under Section 302 of the IPC, that implicates a person in murder,” said the district’s additional superintendent of police, P.K. Ghosh.
