Chennai: An opportunistic strike by Sabir Pasha helped Indian Bank beat Tollygunge Agragami by a solitary goal in a National Football League match Tuesday. It turned out to be a thrilling encounter as both teams, backed by solid defences, pressed forward.
The bankmen went into the lead in the 17th minute when V. K. Haresh’s cross from the right was headed in by Pasha.
Tollygunge came back strongly attacking the Indian Bank territory, but it was their goalkeeper Sebestain Netto’s heroics that helped the Chennai outfit garner full points.
With this win, Indian Bank have 11 points from eight matches while Tollygunge have seven from six.
