Haldia Petro meet

Calcutta, Dec. 29: S. Mohan Gurunath, one of the two Tata nominees on the Haldia Petrochemicals (HPL) board, will be present at its meeting to be held in Delhi on Monday. The meeting assumes significance as HPL is likely to sign a commercial agreement with Gail, which will act as a precursor to the gas major’s equity participation in the project.

Inflation steady

New Delhi, Dec. 29: Inflation stood firm at the previous week’s figure of 3.15 per cent in the week ended December 14 as vegetable prices nose-dived 6 per cent and fruits by 3 per cent.

AirTel rate cut

New Delhi, Dec. 29: AirTel may slash its mobile telephone rates next month in response to the WiLL phone service launched by Reliance, Bharti chief Sunil Mittal said on a TV programme.

Auto exports up

New Delhi, Dec. 29: Exports of ‘Made-in-India’ vehicles jumped by 69.6 per cent to 1.90 lakh vehicles during April-November against 1.11 lakh units a year ago.
