London, Dec. 28 (Reuters): Chelsea’s hopes of closing in on Premier League leaders Arsenal were foiled Saturday as they lost 0-2 to Leeds United. Jonathan Woodgate and James Milner scored.
Chelsea remain second on 38 points. Manchester United are third on 38, after beating Birmingham City 2-0. Diego Forlan got the first after 37 minutes and David Beckham the second in the 73rd.
Everton were held to a goalless home draw by Bolton Wanderers while Middlesbrough lost to Aston Villa 0-1. Blackburn Rovers drew 2-2 with West Ham United, Charlton Athletic beat West Bromwich Albion 1-0, Fulham lost 1-0 at home to Manchester City and Southampton beat Sunderland 2-1 with an injury-time winner.
