Mumbai, Dec. 27: Sanjay Gupta, the director of Kaante, was seriously injured today in a car accident, says our correspondent. His condition is critical, family sources said, though he has been declared out of danger.
Gupta has been admitted to Lilavati Hospital. Eight of his ribs were badly damaged and his left hand completely smashed. His abdomen has been bleeding continuously.
He will be under observation for 24 hours.
Gupta, whose controversial blockbuster released last week, was injured when his car dashed against a pole on the new Mumbai-Pune express highway between Panvel and Lonavla.
His chauffeur, who was driving the car, has been injured in the face.
Gupta was returning to Mumbai from Khandala after a Christmas party.
