Trains stranded after snag

Chinsurah, Dec. 17: Train services on the Howrah-Burdwan main section were disrupted for more than four hours this morning when a Howrah-bound suburban train developed a snag at Adisaptagram station.

Office-goers and students were stranded at several stations from 8.55 am and protest demonstrations against the halt made it worse.

Fearing violence, the railway employees fled their station offices. A passenger of the snag-hit train said he saw smoke under it.
