Mal Chand emerges best

Dfr Mal Chand of RVC Centre and School, Meerut, astride Gold Finger, won the FEI world show jumping championship at the Pat Williamson ground here Friday. He logged a minimum of penalties (2) and took 61.74 seconds. Capt N. S. Sandhu of the NDA, astride Twister, logged 13 penalty points for second spot, while Nitin Gupta of APRC (astride Night Warrior) was third with 16 penalty points.

Ashraya Batta of Tollygunge Club (atop Maharani) won the show jumping for children group A honours, beating clubmates Biren Dey and Piya Mondal. Ashraya logged zero penalty points. The group B of this event was won by Ronak Banerjee.
