Annan drops
United Nations, Dec. 13 (Reuters): Nane Annan, wife of UN secretary-general Kofi Annan, yesterday unveiled her second illustrated children’s book, this time on the shortage of fresh water around the world.
Entitled Top and Top: The Adventures of Two Water Drops!, Nane Annan follows trickling water to irrigation fields, dams, mud slides and drought that turns the drops into mist. Nane Annan, a Swedish lawyer and artist, illustrated the book, published by the American Forum for Global Education, in water colours she took with her on plane trips as she travelled around the world with her husband.
Last year she published a children’s book,The United Nations, Come Along with Me, that also features her travels as first lady of the world. On Thursday, she introduced the 63-page water drop book to an assembly of children.
