Murder slur on CPM leader

Bhagabangola (Murshidabad), Dec. 9: The wife of a local CPM leader has alleged that her husband was abducted and murdered by members of his party.

Arifa Bibi, a former panchayat member, said her husband, Abdur Rahaman, 40, was a victim of the CPMs inner politics. His killers are openly moving around with leaders, she added.

Rahaman was last seen on November 27. At first, I thought my husband had gone to some of our relatives, but after checking with virtually all of them, I got suspicious, Arifa wrote to the CPM leadership. An FIR was lodged on December 5.

She named Altaf Hossain, another local CPM leader, as the prime accused and said he is being sheltered by a district committee member.
