MUSIC & POETRY

December 10 at Landmark; 6.30 pm: Spandan, in collaboration with landmark, presents an evening of music and poetry featuring Sharmila Roy, who will recite some of her poems in English while Anjan Dutta sings.

FOOD FESTIVAL

Till December 15 (every Friday, Saturday and Sunday) at Paschima, Swabhumi; 6.30 pm: An exotic blend of the Portuguese heritage and indigenous flavours, Goan food festival features delicacies like Pomfret Reachardo, Prawn Balchao, Margao Mutton Croquettes, Colva Veg. Chillie Fry, Majorda Veg Cutlet and more. Till December 28 (every Saturday) at the Hyatt Regency pool side; 7 pm - 10 pm: Asian Wok & Grill inludes freshly cooked Asian cuisine with a range of vegetables, seafood and meats. The dishes will be accompanied by an array of sauces and noodles.

YOUTH ACTION PROGRAMME

Till December 10: As part of the International Fortnight protesting Violence against Women, students of various Calcutta schools, in association with Swayam, are initiating an youth action programme. Today at Bede Bustee, Brace Bridge; 1 pm - 3 pm: Theatre performance on Sexual Abuse on Domestic Worker, by Swayam’s Theatre Group.

DEBATE

December 13 at Vidya Mandir; 4 pm: Birla High School presents the national final of the Third Inter Institutional L.N. Birla National Debate on the topic, In the opinion of the house, the religious schism in India cannot bond with secularism, to be followed by a panel discussion.
