Inflation rises to 3.45 %
New Delhi, Dec. 8: Inflation spurted by 0.31 per cent to 3.45 per cent for the week ended November 23 even as prices of fuels and heavy-weighted manufactured products remained firm. The rise in the general price level, as measured by the wholesale price index, was due to the direct and indirect impact of the hike in the price of primary articles, brought about by a steep 5 per cent increase in the price of fruits, despite the government’s assertion that price movements were kept under control.
Mumbai, Dec. 8: Unimpressed with the Centre’s efforts to revive DPC’s power plant, the US government’s Overseas Private Investment Corp has appointed Black & Veatch as its “separate” independent engineer to “facilitate the asset’s revival making it fit for the sale”.
New Delhi, Dec. 8: Facing imminent termination notice from Indian partners, the BG group has put forth a fresh offer of transparency in operations of Panna-Mukta and Tapti oil and gas fields but has not yet acceded to jointly operating the profitable fields.
