Pakistan pair creates history

Chennai, Dec. 7 (PTI): For the first time in the history of the World Junior Squash meet, two Pakistani players, Khayal Mohammed and Majid Khan, will fight it out in the semi-finals of the 12th edition on Sunday.

In Saturday’s quarters, Mohammed upset fifth seeded Eric M. Galvez of Mexico 9-6, 9-7, 9-7 in 64 minutes, while fourth seed Majid beat Jhie Gough of Australia 9-4, 9-2, 9-4. Only on three earlier occasions has a Pakistani made it to the semis — 1998, 1994 and 2000.
