Forex reserves swell

Mumbai, Dec. 7: The country’s foreign exchange reserves continued their upward swing to near $ 67 billion. Fresh inflows, export remittances and revaluation of euro vis-a-vis the dollar led to the foreign exchange reserves touching a record high of $ 66,925 million with a rise of $ 337 million for the week ended November 29. The rise in the period under review was, however, lower than that recorded in the previous four weeks ($ 564 m, $ 648 m, $ 755 m and $ 582 m).

SAIL target

Mumbai, Dec. 7: Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) is aiming at 10 million tonnes of saleable steel production this fiscal compared with 9.5 million tonne in 2001-02 as the markets showed an uptrend.

NPCIL issue

Tiruchirapalli, Dec. 7: Nuclear Power Corporation of India Ltd (NPCIL) plans to come out with a public issue next month to mobilise more funds.

UBI cards

Calcutta, Dec. 7: United Bank of India today launched credit cards to enlarge its portfolio of services. The UBI card has been co-branded with SBI Cards and Payment Services.
