NSW drub England

Sydney: New South Wales beat England by eight wickets in a limited-overs match at the Sydney Cricket Ground Friday.

NSW easily passed Englandís modest total of 206 for the loss of just two wickets with eight overs to spare.

Discarded Test opener Michael Slater made 115 and one-day specialist Michael Bevan hit an unbeaten 54 before captain Steve Waugh sealed victory with three sixes in the 42nd over. Steve made an unbeaten 24 from 14 balls.

Ronnie Irani top-scored for England with 81 while part-time spinner Simon Katich captured three wickets for NSW.

The tri-series involving England, Sri Lanka and Australia starts next week.
