Hattrick for Ragini

Gora Mukherjee and Danielle Jones won the menís and womenís handicap singles titles at the Saturday Club floodlit tennis championships Tuesday.

And Ragini Vimal added a third title to her kitty, winning the parent and child title with her father HC Vimal. RESULTS ó Menís singles handicap final: Gora Mukherjee bt A Kumar 6-3, 7-5. Ladiesí singles handicap final: Danielle Jones bt Ankita Dokania 2-6, 6-0, 6-2. Parent & child doubles final: Ragini Vimal/HC Vimal bt Akshay Bajoria/Pradip Bajoria 4-6, 6-2, 7-5. Veteransí doubles semi-final: Satyajit Burman/S Bose bt D Sarkar/S Sarkar 6-4, 6-2.

Sub-junior cricket

Bimalendu Smriti CCC Tuesday secured top spot in one of the many groups of the CAB Pepsi sub-junior cricket championship when they beat Nirmal Chatterjee by 113 runs.

Souma Sarkar (49) and SumanMondal (35) were the main contributors as Bimalendu reached 239.

Their Raj Garai then took three for 20 as Nirmal Chatterjee slumped for 126.

Brief scores: Bimalendu SCCC 239 in 40 ovs (Souma Sarkar 49, Suman Mondal 35). Nirmal Chatterjee 126 (Raj Garai 3/20). Bimalendu SCCC won by 113 runs.

CAB meet

Sinthee Roypara CCC Tuesday beat Pulak Biswas CC by 234 runs in their CAB junior (110 points) cricket meet. Sinthreeís Arnab Pahari and Sourav Samanta scored 127 and 112, respectively.

In Pulakís innings, which stopped at 114 for nine, Nilotpal Gangabar scored 61, but Sintheeís Soumen Ray picked up four for 24.

Brief scores: Sinthee RCCC 348/7 in 40 ovs (S Samanta 112, A pahari 127; S Banerjee 4/46). Pulak Biswas CC 114/9 in 24 ovs (N Gangabar 61; S Ray 4/24). Sinthee RCCC won by 234 runs.
