Calcutta: The Tata Steel Open golf championship, a part of the Hero Honda Indian PGA Tour, will be held in Jamshedpur from Thursday. According to information received here, the event carries a prize fund of Rs 10 lakh.

The championship will be played over two different venues the Beldih and Golmuri golf courses. Both nine-hole clubs are of the Tatas.

Half the field will play on one course on the opening day and the other course on day two. After the mid-way cut is applied Friday, players will complete nine holes on one course and will then be transferred to the next course, which is approximately 5km away.

All Tour toppers and the rank will be in fray. They include the top-three on the money list. Leading the field would be the current Order of Merit leader, Mukesh Kumar.

Also seen in action would be players like Firoz Ali, Ashok Kumar, Uttam Singh Mundy, Shiv Shankar Prasad Chowrasia and Rahul Ganapathy.

Others are Ali Sher, Amritinder Singh, Gaurav Ghei, Indrajit Bhalotia, Rohtas Singh and Basad Ali and Zai Kipgen and Vinod Kumar.
