Mundy wins Nepal golf

Calcutta, Nov. 30: City golfer Uttam Singh Mundy shook off a turbulent middle stretch to win the Rs 9.5-lakh Surya Nepal Masters in Kathmandu on Saturday, thereby ending his title drought.

The city pro shot two-over 57 for a meet tally of 10-under 261. Mukesh Kumar finished at nine-under 262 following a final-round three-under 52, according to information reaching here.

Hong Kong Open

Two bogeys from Briton Stephen Dodd in the closing holes dropped him into a three-way tie for the lead after the third round of the Hong Kong on Saturday.

Dodd finished on 12 under par with Sweden’s Henrik Nystrom and Argentina’s Jorge Berendt. Six players — Britain’s Gary Orr, Sweden’s Fredrik Jacboson, Thailand’s Boonchu Ruangkit, Zimbabwe’s Tony Johnstone and India’s Arjun Singh — were tied in fourth place.
