At a time when the creative urge is at its all-time high, Subrata Kundu painted tirelessly as if there was no tomorrow. But the words of the critic were prophetic indeed Kundu gradually blossomed into a talented full-fledged watercolourist. He has participated in various national and international exhibitions and salons and has been honoured with prestigious awards including the GCAC Annual Exhibition, Calcutta (in 1980, 1982 -1985), Indian Society of Oriental Art (1981, 1982 and 1984), West Bengal State Academy and AIFACS, Sahitya Kala Parishad in 1986 and 1989).
