Harikrishna slips to 2nd spot

Heraklion (Greece), Nov. 23 (PTI): Grandmaster P. Harikrishna split points after facing a spirited challenge from Izoria Zavid of Georgia and slipped to second place in the under-18 boys’ section of the world youth chess championships Saturday.

Overnight leaders G. Rohit and I. Ramya Krishna lost in the under-14 boys and under-12 girls sections, respectively.

Dronavalli Harika’s win over Russian Elena Tairova took her points tally to seven in the uner 12 category while Tania Sachdev, Eesha Karvade and Amruta Mokal won in the under 16.
