Max New York aims higher

Calcutta, Nov. 22 (PTI): Max New York Life today said it has doubled its business during the past one year and also announced expansion of its operations in West Bengal by launching a second branch office in Calcutta.

Max New York CEO and managing director Anuroop ‘Tony’ Singh told reporters here the company recorded a total revenue of over Rs 100 crore, sold over 100,000 individual policies and recorded a sum assured of over Rs 3,300 crore since its launch.

“We have made a strategic choice of focusing on providing the true value of life insurance to its customers. In a market dominated by pure savings products, our achievement is indeed satisfying,” Singh said.

He said their efforts to help people realise the true value of life insurance, be it through a flexible product suite, high quality agents and service excellence was beginning to take effect.

Talking about Max New York Life’s expansion in West Bengal, director Rajesh Sud said the state had contributed significantly to their success so far and would continue to play a strategic role in their plans for eastern India.

He claimed the company had led the industry in realigning it towards providing the right balance between protection and savings based life insurance products.

“Over 70 per cent of the company’s business is from whole life policies, which offer the true value of life insurance as they judiciously balance protection and savings,” Sud said.
