LG maps out expansion path

Calcutta, Nov. 20: LG Electronics has earmarked Rs 500 crore to expand its existing manufacturing facilities in the country over the next three years.

While LG will expand its existing Noida facility, it will set up a new one in the east and another either in the southern or western part of the country. The company will invest Rs 250 crore to set up a manufacturing facility either in Hyderabad, Bangalore and Pune, with the location being decided by the end of 2003.

The consumer durable major is in the process of finalising a deal with a local manufacturer to assemble 80,000 colour televisions.
