Rights rally

‘Count us in’, a rally for children’s rights, equal access and education for all, organised by Indian Institute of Cerebral Palsy to mark its 29th foundation day, will start from the Fountain of Joy at 9.30 am. Former chief minister Jyoti Basu is chief guest. A memorandum will be presented to chief minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee.

Concerts

Vocal recitals by Kartik Das Baul at Vivekananda Mission School from 2.30 pm and by Kaushiki Chakraborty at BE College (Deemed University), Shibpur, from 5 pm. ‘Sangeet Sandhya’, a recital by Pandit Ajoy Chakraborty at Kalakunj from 6 pm.

Rail show

Exhibition on Wheels Train, organised by Indian Railways. Inauguration at Howrah station, 1.30 pm.

Folk fare

Abbas Mela, presented by Abbasuddin Smaran Samity, on the Maidan.

An exhibition of the manuscripts and National Library publications of Umaprasad Mookerjee, at the library.
