Mayavati

New Delhi, Nov. 16: Uttar Pradesh chief minister Mayavati today came out in support of Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s stand that all organisations should honour the Election Commission’s ban on the Vishwa Hindu Parishad’s yatra in Gujarat.

Talking to reporters here, the Bahujan Samaj Party leader said: “I agree in totality with whatever (the) Prime Minister had said about (the) Election Commission’s decision to impose a ban on (the) VHP’s proposed yatra in Gujarat.”

The VHP on Thursday threatened to defy the poll panel ban and take out the yatra tomorrow. Vajpayee, without naming the VHP, had yesterday asked “all organisations” to honour the ban.
