Birla Tyres eyes Rs 630-cr sales

Calcutta, Nov. 13 (PTI): Birla Tyres, a subsidiary of Kesoram Industries Ltd, is expecting a turnover of Rs 630 crore in the current financial year and plans a 15 per cent capacity expansion through de-bottlenecking.

“The increase in turnover will be mainly driven by exports, which is likely to jump to Rs 125 crore during the fiscal from about Rs 107.15 crore in 2001-02,” Birla Tyres vice-president Ajai Uppal told reporters here.

He said the company was confident of retaining its domestic market share of 10 per cent despite an overall slowdown and recessionary conditions in the road transport and automobile sectors.
