Ambar, Sourav corner Assam

Calcutta: Fine bowling by Ambar Roy and Sourav Sarkar helped Bengal gain an upper hand against Assam in the under-19 Cooch Behar Trophy, being played in Cuttack.

According to information recieved here, Ambar took five for 37,while Sourav claimed three for 56. Assam were all out for 146. In reply, Bengal finished the opening day on 86 for four.

Captainís knock

In the under-15 Polly Umrigar Trophy too, Bengal tightened their noose around Assam at the Rajdanga ground.

On Day II, Bengal declared their first innings on 264 for eight, taking a lead of 132 runs. Rohan Banerjee played a captainís knock of 86.
