Lopez to walk the aisle again

Los Angeles, Nov. 6 (AFP): After months of speculation and open displays of star-powered affection, US diva Jennifer Lopez (in picture above) and movie hearthrob Ben Affleck have become engaged to be married, reports said.

Entertainment TV channel ET quoted sources close to the glamour couple as saying yesterday they had agreed to marry and that Lopez would make an announcement in an on-air US television interview next week.

The stars’ publicists, however, declined to comment.

But New York-born Lopez, affectionately known as J-Lo, dropped heavy hints that marriage may be on the cards during an MTV programme she recorded on yesterday.

When asked whether she and Pearl Harbor star Affleck would get engaged, Lopez said: “You’ve got me in a corner. I can’t just look you in the eye and give you the runaround. Everyone will know soon enough.”

The hollywood pair reportedly became firm friends while working together on a film called Gigli last December, and went public with their romance in July.

Since then they have been inseparable, kissing in public and offering each other huge diamond and luxury bentley cars as presents.

If confirmed, Lopez, 31, would be getting engaged just five months after she separated from her dancer husband of just eight months, Cris Judd.

The ill-fated marriage, which took place on September 29 last year, was her second after a one-year union to Cuban-born waiter Ojani Noa from whom she was divorced in 1997.
