CPM leader bombed

Burdwan, Nov. 4: A CPM leader was attacked by RSP supporters at Baneshwarpur under Bhatar police station, about 50 km from here, yesterday night.

Several bombs were hurled at Farez Ali, 40, the CPM branch secretary of Bada Belun (2), when he left his house for an adjoining cowshed.

Police said Ali was in critical condition at Bhatar Hospital.

The incident sparked tension in the village where a large police contingent had to be deployed. Three RSP workers have been arrested. However, CPMs zonal secretary, Bamacharan Banerjee, blamed the Trinamul Congress for the attack.
