New Delhi, Nov. 1: The Supreme Court today deferred a decision on Karnataka chief minister S.M. Krishna, who is facing contempt charges in the Cauvery water case.
A three-judge bench said the court would decide on November 15 the action to be taken against Krishna, his Cabinet colleague and water resources minister S.K. Patil and the chief secretary for “wilfully and deliberately” disobeying the court’s orders.
The apex court directed Karnataka to release to Tamil Nadu 9,000 cusecs of water daily till November 6 and 6,000 cusecs of water everyday till November 15.
The court “requested” the Prime Minister to resolve the issue.
