Sony DVD writers in India

New Delhi, Oct. 29: Sony Electronics Singapore today introduced the first branded digital video disc (DVD) writers in India through its official marketing division Rashi Peripherals.

The storage device supports all DVD formats like writable and rewritable and has up to 4.7 GB of capacity.

Aimed at customers who want to edit pictures themselves from personal camcorders and VCR tapes, these DVD writers can create Dolby effects, take high quality pictures and store large files at a time.

Ron Low, regional account manager, Sony Electronics Singapore said, “We are the first in the PC segment to offer DVD writers a 100 per cent backup and warranty. Priced at Rs 27,500, it will be launched both as internal and external fittings with standard DVDs.”

“Marriages or parties usually require several CD-ROMs. However, DVDs give more freedom of storage and offer the possibility of increasing one’s creativity by offering the editing option as well,” Low added.
