Waterpolo gold for Calcutta University

Calcutta University won the waterpolo gold in the all-India inter-university aquatic championship at the Subhash Sarobar Sunday. In the final, they beat Amravati University 14-5. Amitava Patodia and Saarik Paramanik scored four each.

Sanjay Mondal of Calcutta University clinched the diving title. Mita Mullick won the gold and Tumpa Mondal bronze (both of Calcutta University) in the 100m backstroke.

Delhi University emerged champions in the menís section with 60 points, while Kerala became runners-up with 30. Calicut won the womenís title with 79 and Calcutta finished second with 44 points.

Rai best

Robin Rai of Darjeeling emerged menís champion in the climbing competition organised by Chandannagar Mountaineering Association. Amit Rana and S. Satya Narayan Rao of Calcutta finished second and third. Rinzing Lhamu Tamang of Darjeeling won the womenís crown. Munmun Chakraborty of Chandennagore and B. Sujata Rao came second and third.
