HCL Tech’s net income drops

Oct. 22: Infotech major HCL Technologies recorded a 36 per cent drop in its net income for the quarter ended September 2002 at Rs 76.2 crore as compared with Rs 119.8 crore in the same period previous year.

According to the company’s consolidated income statement, as per US GAAP, HCL Tech’s net income, after sales incentive and provisions, for quarter ended September 2002 stood at Rs 76 crore as compared with Rs 97.8 crore in the same period previous year, down 22 per cent.

The net income at Rs 76.2 crore during quarter ended September 2002, was down 27 per cent, as compared with net income of Rs 104.3 crore clocked by the company during April to June quarter.

HCL’s gross revenues were, however, up 19 per cent at Rs 442.4 crore during the quarter ended September 2002 against Rs 372.3 crore in the same period previous year.

Hinduja TMT net up 126%

Hinduja TMT Ltd (HTMT) has reported a 126 per cent rise in net profit at Rs 15.84 crore for the second quarter ended September 30, 2002, compared with Rs 7.02 crore in same period of previous fiscal.

The total income has also increased in the period under review at Rs 28.20 crore as against Rs 13.10 crore in the second quarter of last financial year, HTMT said in a release here today. For the six months ended September, net profit rose to Rs 30.09 crore (Rs 17.28 crore in the first half of last year) while total revenues increased to Rs 52.81 crore (Rs 27.79 crore).

PSI Data net loss at Rs 5 cr

PSI Data Systems Ltd, an Aditya Birla group company, has reported over three times rise in its net loss at Rs 5.17 crore for the second quarter ended September 30, 2002 as compared with Rs 1.63 crore in the second quarter of last fiscal.

The total income for the period under review declined to Rs 11.34 crore as against Rs 20.01 crore in July-September 2001, the company informed the Bombay Stock Exchange today.

Balaji Tele net soars 131%

Television software major Balaji Telefilms Ltd has posted an 130.81 per cent jump in net profit at Rs 15.28 crore for the second quarter ended September 30 as compared with Rs 6.62 crore in the same period previous year.

The board has declared an interim dividend of Rs 1.50 per share (75 per cent on an equity share of par value of Rs 2) for the half-year ended September 30, 2002, Balaji Telefilms said in a statement here today.

GKW reduces net loss

GKW Limited today reported a lower net loss of Rs 7.29 crore during the second quarter ending September, 2002, compared with Rs 9.90 crore in the corresponding quarter last year. The company’s first-half net loss now stands at Rs 17.35 crore as against Rs 19.56 crore during the first six months of previous fiscal.

Jubilant net up 147%

Jubilant Organosys, erstwhile Vam Organics, today reported a 147 per cent jump in net profit at Rs 25 crore for half year ending September 30, 2002 as against Rs 10.1 crore in the corresponding period last year.

Its net sales rose by 12 per cent to Rs 333.6 crore in April-September, 2002 from Rs 297.9 crore in the first half of 2001.
