BSE to shift 56 scrips

Mumbai, Oct. 18: The Bombay Stock Exchange had decided to shift 56 scrips, including BPL Ltd, Crisil, DSQ Software, PSIData of Aditya Birla group, Tata Finance, and Voltas from ‘A’ group to ‘B1’ group from November 11, 2002. The bourse would also move 26 ‘B1’ group scrips, including Bharati Televenture, Engineers India, Geometric Software, Lupin and ONGC, to ‘A’ group.

SCI price bids

New Delhi, Oct. 18: Bidders for acquiring government stake in Shipping Corporation of India (SCI) have completed the final due diligence and price bids for sale of 51 per cent stake are likely to be invited next month.

UTI repurchase

New Delhi, Oct. 18: Redemptions by Unit Trust of India (UTI), at Rs 1,345 crore were higher than sales in September 2002, according to the Association of Mutual Funds in India (Amfi). The sales in September for UTI stood at Rs 830 crore with assets under management valued at Rs 44,255 crore, Amfi said while releasing the monthly mutual fund data.

New Delhi, Oct. 18: With just three days to go for VSNL’s October 21 board meeting, the corporation’s subcommittee members reviewing the controversial decision to invest Rs 1,200 crore in Tata teleservices, are currently exchanging drafts and sorting out minor issues, and hope to sign report containing their views by Sunday.

ADB loan

New Delhi, Oct. 18: A loan assistance of $ 300 million has been sought from ADB and World Bank to develop the inland water transport system in the country, said shipping minister V. P. Goyal here today.
