Inflation at 3.34%

New Delhi, Oct. 13: Inflation fell for the second consecutive week by 0.24 per cent to 3.34 per cent for the week ended September 28 even as global crude prices firmed up on threats of a possible US strike over Iraq. The index was 3.58 per cent in the previous week and 3.19 per cent for the corresponding week last year.

Reliance fine

Mumbai, Oct. 13: The department of company affairs (DCA) has ordered Reliance group chairman Mukesh Ambani, MD Anil Ambani and other top directors to pay compounding fees amounting to Rs 4.8 lakh for contravening various provisions of the Companies Act, 1956.

FII sales

Mumbai, Oct. 13: The foreign institutional investors (FIIs) were net sellers in equities at Rs 419.6 crore ($ 86.6 million) for the trading week ended October 11 even as they preferred to stay away from the debt market.

Gail LPG plan

New Delhi, Oct. 13: Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) has objected to Gailís plan to retail auto LPG, saying domestically produced LPG was only enough to meet domestic demand.
