Nyon, Oct. 11 (Reuters): Uefa punished several European clubs on Friday, including Dutch sides FC Utrecht and PSV Eindhoven, in its drive to stamp out racism in soccer.
European soccer’s ruling body ordered Utrecht to play their next Uefa Cup match behind closed doors after crowd trouble in their 3-1 defeat by Poland’s Legia Warsaw, when a racist banner was brandished by Dutch fans.
The club said it would consider appealing the decision.
