Bus strike militants killed

Jammu, Oct. 3 (PTI): Two militants involved in the bus blast at Hiranagar on Tuesday were shot dead along with 10 other militants in separate encounters, which also left a deputy superintendent of police and an army officer dead in Jammu and Kashmir since last night.

Nine securitymen, including five CRPF personnel, were injured in militancy-related violence in the state, official sources said.

After a night-long operation at Hiranagar in Kupwara district, police this morning shot dead two Lashkar-e-Toiba militants identified as Abu Talah and Abu Usman who carried out the attack on a Delhi-Jammu tourist bus during the third phase of polling in the state.

DSP Jagtar Singh, who led the team of police and special operartions group during the operation, was killed and two constables Rupinder Singh and Ghulam Qadir were injured in the encounter.
