Nagaon: East Bengal Wednesday entered the final of the Independence Cup defeating Nagaland Police 2-0 in the first semi-final at the Nurul Amin Stadium.
Mike Okoro scored the first goal in the 39th minute while Kulothungan doubled the lead in the 62nd minute off a Sasthi Duley pass.
The match was halted for a while when Okoro got involved in a scuffle with the rival players. Referee Goutam Sadhukhan showed the red card to Okoro along with Yangar of Nagaland Police.
Nagaland Police tried their best to draw parity but their attempts were foiled by a resolute East Bengal defence.
The Calcutta outfit also created a number of chances, but the rival goalkeeper Zuthnago came in the way.
