AWARD

October 3 at Bangla Akademi Sabhaghar; 6.30 pm: Poet Nirendranath Chakraborty will present the 6th Annual Bangla Akademi Aneeta-Sunilkumar Basu Memorial Award to poet Syed Hasmat Jalal for his work, Kshudhashilper Desh. On this occasion, there will be a poetry-reading session by poets Amitava Dasgupta, Pranab Chattopadhyay, Dibyendu Palit, Ananda Ghosh Hazra, Krishna Basu and Mallika Sengupta.

POETRY

October 5 at CESC Recreation Centre, 96 Prinsep Street; 4 pm: Bipratip presents Kabitar Adda featuring eminent Bengali poets Nirendranath Chakraborty, Sunil Gangopadhyay, Samarendra Sengupta, Pranab Kumar Mukhopadhyay, Pranab Chattopadhyay, Kalikrishna Guha, Subodh Sarkar, Mallika Sengupta, Shyamal Jana, Shreejata, Binyak Bandyopadhyay and Sourav Mukhopadhyay. The evening’s proceedings will be conducted by Bijoylakshmi Barman and Dr Apurba Biswas.
