October 3 at The Ramakrishna Mission Institute of Culture, Vivekananda Hall; 6 pm: An evening of devotional songs by Arun Bhaduri. October 4 at Birla Academy; 6 pm: Sangna presents Rabindranath O Aagomoni Gaan. Participants: Chandrabali Rudra Dutta, Mallar Basu, Suman Panthi, Riddhi Chatterjee, Sudeshna Sanyal, Sugata Sen, Rima Mitra, Madhabi Dutta, Nandini Ganguly, Sangeeta Bose, Malasree Ghosh, Indrani Das, Tulsi Roy, Patralekha Mukherjee and Apala Basu in songs; and Biplab Chakraborty, Munmun Mukherjee and Arunava Biswas in recitation. October 5 at The Ramakrishna Mission Institute of Culture, Vivekananda Hall; 5.45 pm: The members of the children’s library of The Ramakrishna Institute of Culture will present Banikumar’s Mahisasuramardini. Mayor Subrata Mukherjee will preside over the prize distribution ceremony of the art and recitation competition held among the children.


October 5 at CESC Recreation Centre, 96 Prinsep Street; 4 pm: Bipratip presents Kabitar Adda featuring eminent Bengali poets Nirendranath Chakraborty, Sunil Gangopadhyay, Samarendra Sengupta, Pranab Kumar Mukhopadhyay, Pranab Chattopadhyay, Kalikrishna Guha, Subodh Sarkar, Mallika Sengupta, Shyamal Jana, Shreejata, Binyak Bandyopadhyay and Sourav Mukhopadhyay. The evening’s proceedings will be conducted by Bijoylakshmi Barman and Dr Apurba Biswas.

Till October 11 at CIMA Gallery; 11 am - 8 pm: Art in Life — A collection of exquisite brassware from South India, etnic salwar kameez sets, dupattas in cotton, organza, silk and brocade, books and magazines, T shirts designed by CIMA, table and bed linen by master weavers, ceramics and hand-made glass, folk and tribal art from Madhya Pradesh and Bengal, costume jewellery from across India, dhurries and mats and wall hangings, stationery, cards and imported art supplies, mirrors, and many other artefacts.
