Ever-Ready, Bhratri triumph

Calcutta: Ever-Ready and Bhratri Sangha both notched up identical 2-0 win over SAIL and FCI, respectively, in the CFL Super Division relegation zone on Tuesday. S. Ghosh and S. Chakraborty scored for Ever-Ready.

In the first division group A relegation, Kidderpore SC and BNR were locked at 1-1 draw. Indranil Bauri struck for Kidderpore but Balai Mondal restored parity for BNR.

Junior athletic squad

Bengal will field a six-member athletic squad, including two boys, for the second junior Federation Cup meet, to be held in Mumbai on October 3 and 4. The squad: Hari Sankar Roy, Bacchu Durlav, Sushmita Singh Roy, Dipa Das, Pinki Pramanik and Nabanita Ghosh.

Sixth seed shocked

Baibhav Das of Bengal shocked six-seeded Nilutpal Basumatari of Assam 6-2, 6-0 in boys’ under-12 section while bengal girls Henna Ahuja beat Deepti Srivastav 6-4, 6-3 in the Nike Junior Tour tennis meet on Tuesday.

Bowling meet

TCS B, TCS D, TCS E, Skytech Solutions, Siemens B, Siemens C abd Bayview Technology B registered their respective wins at the second Cyber Cup bowling tournament at Nicco Super Bowl on Tuesday.

BASKETBALL: Inter-school meet for girls at YMCA (Wellington) from 2.30 pm.
