Antequera may account for Taipan

Mysore: The two well-tuned horses, Taipan and Antequera, look best of the lot to battle it out for the 1,600m Maharaja’s Gold Cup, Friday’s main event, here, for runners rated 40 and above. However, considering that the Darius Byramji-trained ward, Antequera, is better off at the weights, the four-year-old by Green Forest-Silver Reflet may do the trick in the hands of the champion jockey Pesi Shroff.

Bryce Canyon, a fluent winner in his previous outing, looks further improved and the Michael Eshwer-trained four-year-old may post a repeat victory in the A. C. Somanna Memorial Trophy. Y. Srinath partners the Serious Spender-Academic gelding.
